About Us

Who we are

The IPLS is an umbrella group for 9 Business Development and Licensing (BD&L) national organisations in France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Central & Eastern Europe, Canada and the Nordics. All dedicated to networking, education and best practice in life-science.

Our society was formed in 2003, to coordinate international activities and liaison between our members.

The IPLS is a not-for-profit organisation.

 

Vision

  • To offer the best environment for successful partnerships in Life Sciences. 
  • To inform, educate and facilitate networking and business for BD&L professionals in Life Sciences on an international basis.

Mission

  • To act as a representative Council for the National Pharma & Healthcare BD&L Groups.
  • To exchange ideas concerning best practices within the national groups and ways to cooperate.
  • Encourage the creation of new groups in any countries not covered by the current group network.
  • Stimulate contact with other international trade associations and other BD&L groups.

Organisation

  • IPLS operates as a steering group to provide guidance and co-ordination within national groups.
  • The IPLS consists of representatives, a maximum of 2 persons from each national group.
  • Structure: Chairman, Vice Chair and Treasurer with other members having specific projects and responsibilities.
  • Board duration is 2 years.
  • Mechanism for appointment, by proposition and election.
  • Frequency of Board meetings: every two months. For specific projects, such as the annual conference, meetings are monthly or more frequently as needed.
  • Decision making and authority: propositions to the board and votes for final decisions.
